Anvil

Anvil, once captured, would probably have become the main point of entry for Thalmor troops into Cyrodiil. It's unlikely that the Thalmor would relinquish it.

I think that after the WGC the Thalmor left Cyrodiil but the fields around it would be ravaged after the Sack of Anvil.
